Taxonomy Comments
This species was formerly known as P. nigrita triseriata *2582*. This species was formerly known as P. f. feriarum, but was elevated to species status when P. f. kalmi was elevated to species status *11280*. The herpetofaunal taxonomic authority (Crother et al, 2008, online updated edition, accessed on 1/19/12) recently reclassified the subspecies that were under this species name so that they are now considered different species. Thus, this scientific species name was updated on 1/19/12 so that the subspecies name was eliminated. The scientific species name was P. feriarum fariarum, but is now P. feriarum.
